After gorgeous weekend weather with highs approaching 80 degrees across the entire region and crystal clear skies, temperatures will fall down slightly into the upper 60s/near 70 with the passage of a strong autumn cold front.
A weak upper level system nears the region during the Midweek, a brings with it a chance of scattered showers Wednesday evening and Thursday.

Late last night, while many were asleep, a powerful tornado (F3 by preliminary data via NWS) with estimated winds topping 150 mph roared through the quaint city of Evansville, Indiana. At least 22 people are confirmed dead across southern Indiana and western Kentucky, and nearly 250 individuals are injured.
This is now the deadliest tornado to hit southern Indiana since the 1974 "Super Outbreak" when 21 tornadoes touched down across the Ohio River valley killing close to 50 people, and by November standards for severe weather--almost unprecdented. The Super Outbreak occurred in mid-spring at the height of the severe weather season.

Due to the time at which this event took place, many did not receive the severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings issued by local National Weather Service Warning Forecast Offices across southern Indiana. This event was forecast nearly 3 days in advance by meteorologists at the Storms Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma; yet mother nature has claimed more lives in an very active weather season.
